Our development expertise spans a wide range of programming languages and frameworks, as well as the ability to seamlessly integrate diverse 3rd party systems and tools – from e-commerce, LMS, CMS, and CRM to job boards, news and review feeds, and various types of widgets.
Stephanie and Adam Taylor, owners of Remnant Farm in Northern Virgina, home-brewed a batch of kombucha to help their kids cope with food allergy issues. Initial results were positive, prompting them to experiment with myriad botanicals and flavors. Buoyed by rave reviews from folks who tried the product, the Taylors toyed with the idea of turning this into a viable business. They met with local breweries and got them to offer their product on tap. When the repeat orders began pouring in, they realized they could be on to something big.
Keen to take their business to the next level, the Taylors hunted for a branding and digital marketing agency that could turn their product into a living, breathing brand. Tizgee was one of many agencies they met. Struck by how we plunged ourselves into their world, probed intelligently, offered smart, actionable insights, and the way we tempered our enthusiasm with thoughtful, real-world sagacity that only comes from years of experience, helping small businesses and startups compete on a level playing field, that initial conversation pretty much sealed the deal. The rest – as they say – is history!
We positioned the brand as a cool, fun and refreshing alternative to beer and wine, for fun-loving but health-conscious, young(-at-heart) men & women. We locked-in the brand fundamentals – a youthful & vibrant identity, a hip & happening personality, and a clear architecture defining the relationship between the brand & its flavors (sub-brands).
We then proceeded to evolve a marketing and promotional strategy centered around a meticulously thought-through website, as the lynchpin to support and feed into the rest of our marcom activity – the classic hub-and-spoke model, so to speak.
For the initial 9-12 months, the role of the website would be confined to creating overall awareness and recall, building a strong connect with consumers and playing a support role to building ground level visibility, driving footfalls and demand at key distribution outlets. But down the line the team was conscious of the need to pivot to ecommerce, in order to scale-up and perform to potential.
Our attempt was to buck prevailing design trends and with youthful, vibrant, fun, and quirky look & feel, complemented by a casual, friendly, and conversational tone & manner, reflective of the brand’s core identity and personality traits. The predominance of our primary brand color, bright Orange, is offset by earthy tones like Olive, Beige and Grey. The use of circular shaped images, graphics, and design elements serves to accentuate the circular brand and sub-brand logos.
Built on WP, we kept the website content simple, neatly sorted into just 5 pages, with dynamic and interactive features and smart cross-links between latently-related pieces of content on different pages of the website for intuitive navigability and a rewarding user experience.
10 months on, we added a web-based newsletter with an inbuilt email outreach mechanism, and a meticulously planned and designed e-store to the website, The e-store was custom-built on the WooCommerce platform, with all desired features and functionalities, taking into account every possible scenario and every unique variable specific to the brand, sub brands and units in which they are made available for purchase.
If team Remnant was delighted with the initial website, they were – despite a few initial hiccups – over-the-moon with both the newsletter and the e-store solution we built. Feedback from users indicates that they are enjoying a smooth and seamless shopping experience.
Monthly Google Analytics reports over the months have shown steady growth from
– 45 sessions and 93 pageviews during the first month, to
– 175 sessions and 374 pageviews by the sixth month.
The metrics exploded since the newsletter and e-store were added, and we recorded
– 867 sessions, 1.900+ pageviews and as many as 32 online transaction in March 2024.
