Team Visionary to Present Research and Receive Award at 11th Annual Health Disparities Conference in New Orleans
Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC (Visionary) is proud to announce the acceptance of three research abstracts for Xavier University of Louisiana’s upcoming 11th Health Disparities Conference. Our President and CEO, Eleanor Thornton, and Director of Programs & Research and Health Services Administrator, Claire Hayes Watson, PhD, led the authoring of “Implementation of an Asthma Counseling Training Model in Federally Qualified Health Centers: A Qualitative Analysis.” The research highlights the insights and perceptions of trainers, counselors, providers, and health center administrators during and after the implementation of a tailored asthma counselor training program in federal health centers.
Two accepted abstracts were also led by Visionary’s Practice Engagement Interns, who have worked diligently to develop and execute independent projects that explore the demands of small and large public health systems through the lens of small business. Hannah Sullivan, a graduating Master of Public Health student from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine will present her research titled “Understanding the Barriers of Public Health Organizations in Post-Disaster Settings: A Qualitative Analysis.” Ms. Sullivan has also been selected to receive the John Ruffin Young Investigators Award for her research efforts and will present her work during the Plenary Session II & Lunch Keynote Address.
Simone Graham, a graduating Master of Public Health student from LSU Health’s School of Public Health will also present her work titled “Guess Who: An Innovative Approach to Using Technology to Facilitate Collaborative Partnering Between Small Businesses that Support Health Services Institutions”. Ms. Graham’s primary objective is to deliver this fully operable business development application to Visionary’s leadership by the end of her internship.
