Visionary's COO Appointed to the Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs

On June 23, 2022, our Chief Operating Officer, Michael D. Thornton, Sr. was appointed as a member of the Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs (ACVBA) by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The ACVBA serves as an independent source of advice and policy recommendation to the SBA Administrator, SBA Associate Administrator for the Office of Veterans Business Development, Congress, the President, and other U.S. policymakers on programs affecting veteran-owned small businesses from all segments of American society.

Asked to comment on the singular honor conferred upon him, and by extension upon Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC (Visionary), Mr. Thornton had this to say:

“On behalf of all at Team Visionary, I feel proud and privileged to accept this appointment. I believe it to be the cumulative outcome of three key factors:

A. We are ourselves a CVE-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), along with being an SBA-certified Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), and a Small, Woman- and Minority-owned (SWaM) business.

B. We have expressed to the SBA, not just our gratitude for the support it has extended to us over the years, but also our earnest desire to do whatever we can to assist them in supporting other veteran entrepreneurs like ourselves to grow and thrive.

C. The deep and abiding commitment we have demonstrated, to give back to and to serve our veteran community.”

We look forward to partnering with fellow members of the ACVBA, and to contribute tangibly and meaningfully, to the cause it represents.
