Remembering Dr. Floyd Joseph Malveaux

Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC (Visionary) wishes to honor the legacy of Dr. Floyd Joseph Malveaux, a colleague, mentor, and friend of the Visionary family. Dr. Malveaux was an accomplished physician, having received may accolades for his contributions to the field of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. He was a renowned professor and researcher, and later became the Dean of the College of Medicine, and the Vice Provost for Health Affairs at Howard University. It was at Howard in 1996, that he became a colleague and dear friend to Eleanor (Ellie) Thornton. Over the next 24 years, Ellie would work side-by-side with Dr. Malveaux, sharing in his commitment to improve the well-being and quality of life of children with asthma. After his retirement from Howard University, Dr. Malveaux would become the Director of the Merck Childhood Asthma Network (MCAN). It was at MCAN that he offered Ellie an executive consultancy- an opportunity that would lead to the creation of her healthcare consulting firm, Visionary Health Education Consulting Services (VHECS). When VHECS was incorporated as Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC in 2008, Dr. Malveaux continued his support, encouraging and mentoring Visionary’s leadership as the company grew from offering health education services to program management, training, international development, health information technology, and staff augmentation.

Dr. Malveaux’s unwavering support of Visionary, will not be forgotten as we remain dedicated to
promoting health and transforming the lives of medically and socially underserved populations. Today, Visionary celebrates the life of Dr. Floyd J. Malveaux, and honors his legacy by renewing our commitment to service and uplifting communities of color in order to improve quality of life for children and their families.
